Is algae omega-3 as good as fish oil?
Fish get their omega-3s by eating microalgae. Our algal oil comes straight from that source, so you get the same long-chain EPA and DHA without the fish: 300mg DHA and 150mg EPA per 2-softgel serving.
Isn't flaxseed, chia or walnuts enough?
Those foods give you ALA, a different omega-3. Your body converts only a small amount of ALA into EPA and DHA, which is why many vegans add an algae-based source.
Will it give me fishy burps?
No. There's no fish in it, and every bottle has a peppermint tab to keep it fresh. Taking your softgels with a meal helps too.
What are the softgels made of?
The shell is vegan: modified tapioca starch, vegetable glycerin and purified water. No gelatin.
How big are the softgels?
They're an average size: not mini, but not oversized either. Most people take both together with a meal.
How should I store it?
In a cool, dry place with the lid closed. Please don't refrigerate it: cold can make the softgels brittle.
